Important fitment notes
- ✔Kits are designed to connect safety chains to the towbar.
- ✔Ensure the safety chain anchor points on the towbar can accommodate the hook size.
- ✔ If the hole is not big enough, use traditional hammerlocks / chain connectors to attach to the towbar anchor points. Connector links: Light connector and Heavy connector.
- ✔This helps ensure there is enough room for the hook.
- !Do not assume every towbar anchor point will accept the connector size without checking. Light Trailer kit needs an 11mm hole, Heavy Trailer kit needs a 13mm hole
Attaching Hooks to the Trailer Chain (Instead of the Vehicle)
Ensure your safety chain anchor points on the towbar can accommodate the hook’s size. If the hole isn’t big enough, use traditional hammerlocks to attach to the towbar’s anchor points. This ensures there is enough room for the hook.

Use traditional hammerlocks where required so the towbar anchor point has enough room for the certified hook.
Towing above 3,500kg ATM
If trailer ATM is above 3,500kg, the trailer is usually fitted with short link lifting chain, which is not standard trailer safety chain. These links are tight and heavy, so the hook cannot seat directly on the chain.
