BS529 Eye Bolt – Zinc Plated (BSW Thread)
The BS529 eye bolt is a collared lifting eye bolt designed as a removable lifting point wherever a rated female thread or nut is available. With working load limits from 0.3 tonne to 4.6 tonne across imperial sizes from 3/8" to 1 1/4", it also serves as a reliable termination point for chain, wire rope and other lifting and rigging assemblies.
Key Features
- Manufactured from carbon steel to BS 970 specifications with a durable zinc plated finish for corrosion resistance.
- Compact collared eye design – a smaller eye than DIN type eye bolts.
- BSW (British Standard Whitworth) thread for use with rated tapped holes and nuts.
- Conforms to AS 2317 and marked with working load limit in tonne, nominal size, quality grade, batch number and supplier identification.
- Proof tested to 2 x working load limit, with a minimum breaking force of 6 x working load limit.
- Available in seven sizes with WLL from 0.3 t to 4.6 t.
Technical Specifications
- Working load limit: 0.3 t – 4.6 t (axial loading)
- Sizes: 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1 1/4" (BSW thread)
- Material: carbon steel (BS 970)
- Finish: zinc plated
- Standard: AS 2317
- Proof load: 2 x WLL Â |Â Minimum breaking force: 6 x WLL
Typical Applications
- Removable lifting points on machinery, dies, moulds and fabricated components with a rated tapped hole.
- Anchor and termination points for chain, wire rope and other lifting assemblies.
- General rigging, lifting and load positioning tasks.
Notes
Working load limits are based on axial (in-line) loading. Angular loading reduces the safe working load – always rate the eye bolt for the angle of loading. Test certificates are available on request. Inspect before each use and never exceed the rated working load limit.
