Less fiddling. More caravanning.
Make connecting and disconnecting your trailer or caravan safety chains easier with Grade 80 hooks and reusable connectors. The thumb-push QUICKLOCK® rubber-grip connector pin fits by hand, with no hammer required.
Buy from Conveying & Hoisting Solutions and your official Road Vehicle Regulator Approval Certificate will be emailed after purchase. Choose the correct kit for your trailer’s rated ATM and check the fit before ordering.
Use the ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) on your trailer or caravan’s compliance plate, not the weight you normally tow. Then check your chain size, link shape and towbar connection point.

Product Code: 103508 / 103508BTowing a caravan rated at 3,500kg ATM? Choose the Heavy Trailer Kit, subject to your chain and towbar being compatible. Do not add the two hook ratings together.
Check the fit: Chain diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility. Check the link opening and shape, space around the towbar anchor point, and clearance for the connector, hook and latch. A larger kit is not automatically a better fit for a smaller chain.

Hooks with safety latches and clear TC2000KG or TC4000KG markings, depending on the kit selected.
Thumb-push QUICKLOCK® connector pins for fitting by hand, without hammering, welding or cutting.
Your official Road Vehicle Regulator Approval Certificate is emailed after purchase from Conveying & Hoisting Solutions.
Hook and unhook your safety chains without winding a shackle pin in and out each time.
Push the connector pin into the QUICKLOCK® rubber-grip collar with your thumb. No hammer required.
Safety latches help retain the chain in the hook, while the stamped towing-capacity marking makes the selected kit easy to identify.
Choose orange or black, with free shipping Australia-wide.
The standard setup is to fit the hook kit to the vehicle towbar anchor point, then connect your trailer safety chain to the hook.
Important: Do not assume every towbar anchor point will accept the connector size without checking.
Some customers prefer to fit the certified hook to the trailer safety chain, then hook back onto the vehicle towbar anchor point.
For this setup, you will need additional chain connectors to attach the certified hook assembly to the trailer safety chain.

Important: This accessory setup is only required if you want the hook fitted to the trailer chain.
If your trailer ATM is above 3,500kg and it uses short link lifting chain, the hook may not seat directly on the chain.
For short link lifting chain, match the Omega Link size to the chain size: use 10mm Omega Links with 10mm chain and 13mm Omega Links with 13mm chain. Use 2 Omega Links, one per safety chain.
For 10mm Short Link Lifting Chain10mm Omega Link — Product Code: 104110
For 13mm Short Link Lifting Chain13mm Omega Link — Product Code: 104113
Quantity2, one per safety chain
The Omega Link creates a rated connection point between the lifting chain and certified hook without cutting or welding.

No. The hook ratings are not added together.
Each safety chain and each hook must be suitable for the trailer’s full ATM on its own. For example, a 2,000kg rated hook kit is suitable for trailers up to 2,000kg ATM. It does not become suitable for a 4,000kg trailer simply because two hooks are fitted.
For a 4,000kg trailer or caravan, the Heavy Trailer Kit is required.
Select the kit based on your trailer or caravan’s ATM, not the load you normally carry.
Light Trailer Kit: Suitable for trailers up to 2,000kg ATM.
Heavy Trailer Kit: Suitable for trailers up to 4,000kg ATM.
For a 3,500kg ATM caravan: select the Heavy Trailer Kit and confirm the chain, link opening, towbar hole and available clearance are compatible.
Your ATM can usually be found on the trailer compliance plate. When selecting towing safety components, always work from the trailer’s maximum rated ATM.
Yes. The Vehicle & Trailer Safety Chain Hook Kits have been assessed for towing use and hold Road Vehicle Component Type Approval for compliance with ADR 62/02 Mechanical Connections Between Vehicles.
This means the product has been approved as a road vehicle component for its intended towing application, giving you a clear compliance pathway compared with generic hooks or unapproved alternatives.

Yes. The kit is designed to be user installable and includes the required hooks and fitting hardware.
The hooks should be fitted correctly to suitable trailer safety chain connection points, and the correct kit must be selected for your trailer ATM.
D shackles are commonly used, but these hook kits are designed to make connecting and disconnecting your safety chains faster, easier, and cleaner, especially when access under the vehicle is awkward.
They are particularly useful for caravans, trailers, 4WDs, and setups where the chain connection point is hard to reach. They also provide the benefit of a dedicated towing product with Road Vehicle Regulator approval for the application.
We aim to process orders within 1–3 business days. Made-to-order and special-order products may have longer lead times, as shown in the product details.
